Raphine is situated approximately midway between Staunton and Lexington making it an ideal location for exploring the Southern end of the Shenandoah Valley area.

Raphine is 1935 feet above sea level which gives us  a mountain environment.   Great for enjoying the porch, watching the birds, watching the sunrise or walking or riding your bike along one of Virginia's By-ways, Route 606 is one.  We tend to be several degrees cooler than the Local weather forecast, unfortunately we can not control the rain and you can expect misty mornings when the forecast is for high humidity.

Ours is a small hamlet but we offer a weekend or more of things right here to keep you occupied and entertained:
Cyrus McCormick Farm Museum, a five-acre memorial plot pays tribute to the ingenuity of the McCormick family. It is designated a National Historic Landmark and Virginia Wayside site. Cyrus Hall McCormick invented the first successful reaper and founded the harvesting machine industry.
Rockbridge Vineyard   is the fruition of Shepherd Rouse's dream to make fine wine in his native state of Virginia.  Starting with 5 acres of grapes the vineyard has grown to a producer of fine award winning wines.   Tours and tasting are conducted year-round Wednesday through Sunday from 11 to 5.
Wade's Flour Mill is a working flour mill, circa 1750, The mill is powered by a 21 foot water wheel fed by a nearby stream.  Fresh stone ground grains and mixes are available to fit your needs.

Goshen Pass  is three miles of rushing whitewater lined with rhododendron, laurel and ferns. There is a pavilion about midway through the Pass with a picnic shelter, water and sanitary facilities. Activities include swimming, tubing, canoeing, fishing, hiking and picnicking.
Orchardside Yarn Shop is a quaint and friendly specialty yarn shop. Carole also offers home grown berries in season and a farmer's market on Saturdays. Their residence, shop and farm is so picturesque with a creek running along the front of the shop so you can sit on the porch and watch the geese, ducks and peacocks wander around the lawns. Talk about serenity!
