Staunton is a 20 minute drive from Back In Thyme to the North on Rt. 11 or I-81. The City of Staunton was founded in the 1740's in the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Staunton grew to become "The Queen City of the Shenandoah Valley," and today thus it remains, a beautiful town in a stunning rural setting that is rich both in quality of life and in historical, architectural, and recreational attractions.

One of the few original Presidential birthplaces open to the public, Woodrow Wilson's first home offers an authentic picture of family life in the pre-Civil War Shenandoah Valley. Serving from 1913 to 1921 Woodrow Wilson is considered the nation's first international leader.

The Frontier Culture Museum uses historic structures, artifacts, and living history interpretation to represent how immigrants to America lived in their homelands, crossed the Atlantic, and traveled from coastal ports into the Shenandoah Valley. These travelers built farms along the early Western Frontier where they and their descendents formed a new American culture.

The amphitheatres in which Shakespeare and his company performed are enjoying a renaissance.   In our hometown, Shenandoah Shakespeare has constructing an authentic replica of Shakespeare's indoor playhouse.   Enjoy the pleasures that an Elizabethan playgoer would have enjoyed at one of their productions.

After many months of renovation and careful planning the old Beverley Manor School became the Statler Brothers Complex. The Corporate offices other work-related areas and The Statlers Museum and Gift Shop are located here.
